Standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)

Here has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. No content or behaviour that sexualizes or endangers minors is permitted on the service, in any form, and we act on it when we find it.

Adults only

• Here is exclusively for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account.
• Date of birth is collected at signup, gates account creation, and is locked afterwards — it can't be edited to bypass the check.
• Accounts we suspect belong to minors are removed, and the outcome is recorded so the check can't be retried away.

Automated detection

Every profile photo is scanned before it becomes visible to anyone, using automated moderation (Google Cloud Vision) and matching against known child sexual abuse material (CSAM). A photo that fails moderation never goes live. Confirmed CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and, where required, to Canadian authorities, and the account is terminated.

In-app reporting

Anyone can report a profile or a conversation from inside the app, at any time — the Safety button is one tap from every screen. Reports are reviewed by people, and reports involving a possible minor are prioritized. A report permanently prevents the two accounts from being shown to each other again.

Child safety contact

Our designated child-safety contact is safety@ihere.ca. Use it to report a child-safety concern about Here directly, including from outside the app. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement first.

Law enforcement

We cooperate with law enforcement investigations into child sexual abuse and exploitation, and we comply with applicable child-safety law, including Canada's mandatory-reporting requirements and, through our reporting to NCMEC, U.S. reporting requirements. Law-enforcement requests: safety@ihere.ca.
